What is Hardware Ranked?
Hardware Ranked is where we keep the hardware research we were already doing. You get live rankings, critic reviews, community scores, specs, and comparisons without having to keep twenty tabs open.
How are we doing this?
Critics score the hardware they know. Everyone else can rate what they have actually used. Those scores feed the same live rankings, so the order can change when the community changes its mind.
We started with gaming handhelds because there are a butt ton of them and choosing one can get ridiculous. The same setup can grow into graphics cards, computers, and the rest of consumer hardware without throwing away what makes the rankings useful.
But why?
Spending this much time collecting hardware information is a little nuts, but we were already doing it. We were making videos, testing devices, and talking about this stuff with the community anyway.
Putting it here means the homework does not vanish into an old video or somebody’s spreadsheet. Also, ranking things is fun. We just want the list to keep up when a better device shows up.
How are we rating things?
Critic scores come from people we have vetted and whose work you can actually see. They know the hardware, test it seriously, and score the same parts of each device.
Members can rate devices too. If you think a score is off, say so in the discussion. If a spec is wrong, send a correction. The site should make disagreements useful, not bury them.
What's the main quest?
Finding a review you trust is hard. Comparing two devices across a pile of videos, store pages, and spec sheets is worse. We want that homework in one place.
